Tyler grew up in Newman, Georgia. After graduating from high school, Tyler moved to Dahlonega Georgia to pursue a nursing degree in pediatrics. While visiting Hilo, Hawaii on vacation, he was introduced to jiu jitsu and immediately fell in love with the sport. After return back home, he began his jiu jitsu journey. In July of 2020, Tyler joined Team Alliance Gainesville, where he trained under the guidance of Professor Si Doan. During the period of time, he began training and competing heavily. In under a year of joining Alliance, Tyler has had 33 competition matches. Winning 30 out of 33 with 27 matches resulting in submission finishes.

Today, Tyler continues to train under the guidance of Professor Si, while coaching adult and kids jiu jitsu in hopes to use his love and knowledge to build a stronger team and while remaining a high level competitor in the sport.
