Si was born in the Batoon Philippines and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. Si began training jiu-jitsu at the age of 20 in 2007 at Knuckle Up in Gwinnett, GA. After only eight months, he was awarded his blue belt under Professor Diego Saravia of Nova União Academy. Shortly after receiving his blue belt, Si joined Alliance Jiu-Jitsu Team (12X World Champion Team) where he had the honor of training under the prestigious Grandmaster Romero "Jacaré" Cavalcanti.
During Si's time at Alliance, he had the opportunity to train under the supervision of Ruben "Cobrinha" Charles, Lucas Lepri, and Leonardo Nogueira where he developed his passion for jiu-jitsu even further. He would then earn his purple belt within four years, by 2011, under Grandmaster Cavalcanti.
From 2011 to 2015, while training under the combined guidance of Grandmaster Cavalcanti, Lucas Lepri, and Leonardo Nogueira, Si received his brown belt.
In 2020, Si accomplished one of his dreams - to open his very first AllianceJiu Jitsu Academy. He had the honor of bringing the Alliance name to North Georgia and this will always be one of his favorite accomplishments of his jiu-jitsu career.
In February 2021, after over a decade of representing Team Alliance, Si was granted his black belt from Grandmaster Cavalcanti while under the leadership of Leonardo Nogueira.
Si's biggest venture to date is building and creating the biggest state-of-the-art facility in Gainesville, GA. It is his hope that his academy will bring the mixed martial arts community together under one roof. The name "Team Doan" represents a collective of athletes that train, compete and excel together in their pursuit of fitness and health.
Today, Professor Si is dedicated to building champions on and off the mats. He still remains a highly active competitor while continuing to represent Team Doan and the Alliance name!
